Lester Creative played a formidable role in the
multi-million-dollar refurbishment of the front entrance to the MGM Grand
Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, a design created by Dougall Design
Associates.
Working as the hotel operator' representative, the staff
of Lester Creative provided project management, technical direction and
quality control for the attractive new gateway to this entertainment
complex on the Vegas strip, directing the efforts of dozens of artistic
and technical specialists. |

| The
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is sporting a new look these days.
The elegant new entrance, developed under the technical
direction of Lester Creative, Inc., includes a 45-foot tall bronze lion,
the largest bronze cast statue in the United States.

 | The 90,000-pound lion was cast in 1600 individual
pieces of half-inch-thick bronze plate, welded together and supported by a
structural steel internal armature. The lion was fabricated by Snell
Johnson of ART Enterprises in Scottsdale, Arizona. It's the second largest
bronze in the world. |
 | The refurbishment includes 18 state-of-the-art LED
screens, ranging in size from 600 to 3,000 square feet. Fifteen have
been installed outside the casino, and three are inside. The boards have
three to four times better resolution than incandescent displays, and
use significantly less electricity than traditional lighted signs. The
signs were created by Display Ad Nevada. |

 | Eleven bronze-finished fiberglass statues complement
the lion outside the MGM Grand. The winged figures of Atlas-like men
holding 16-foot diameter bowls are about twice life- size, 10 feet tall in
their kneeling position. Each of them houses brilliant light beams that
project skyward. |
